Dominic Mercurio is a filmmaker and a talented cinematographer and editor. His latest film, the 30-minute Nuclear Family, was screened in SF theaters in 2011.
Nuclear Family and Dominic’s earlier short, Frank’s Mug (Virgins and Rejects Film Festival 2009) celebrate the oddness of ordinary people. Using subtle humor and unflinching insight, Dominic aims to peel back layers of normalcy to unmask themes such as obsession, dysfunction and redemption.
He recently edited Catch The Clock (NYCIFF Official Selection) and the award-winning period piece Lockwood, directed a commercial for the Yes on 19 campaign as well as an award winning Music Video for The Family of Man. We Heart Elie, his guerilla narrative feature, premiered at Palo Alto’s Aquarius Theater in 2008.
Born and raised in the Bay Area, Dominic has a B.S. in Digital Film and Video Production from the Art Institute of California – San Francisco.
